Photo of the Day for April 9, 2010. I took this photo in my Grandma’s front yard on Easter of 2006. The red tulip really stood out among the smaller pink flowers… which, by the way, I have no idea what they are! However, being the Photoshop Junkie that I am, I couldn’t leave well enough alone.

My first edit was to subdue the background colors to help the tulip stand out more. I also decided the tulip needed to be a different color. This first attempt was ok, but not exactly what I was looking for though.

So back to Photoshop I went. This time I wanted drama and lots of contrast. What I came up with was a bright pop of fuchsia set on a black and white background. I love it! I have this framed in a black frame with white matte in my house. I also have given this away for bridal shower gifts and the girls seem to really enjoy them.
